[It's weird, he was used to giving Beat the pep talks, not the other way around. It was... he was so sure anything like this wasn't even on the table to he just didn't think about it.

Now that's changed so suddenly, so he takes Beat's advice and doesn't give himself time to think about it]

[The yes surprises him because, well to be honest, he hadn't planned shit all for what would happen for a yes.]

then literally reaches down and grabs his belt chain and yanks it hard enough to probably make even a big guy like Beat stumble]

Yeah. I mean... I'm not promising anything- but I guess there's nothing to lose giving it a try?

[Other then their friendship. That dread churns in his gut, but he's trying to ignore it]

[It does take him off guard and he shuffles closer to keep his balance, looking surprised. Though it quickly melts into a happy look at Neku's words.]

Right! Yo an' even if we don' like, date good? We still gonna be friends! Ain't no one else I trust to have my back bro!

[He looks away, fiddling with his headphones again. He doesn't fully trust Beat's words- but he does trust Beat himself, so there's nothing to do but try]

...so you want those hotdogs or what?

Oh hell yeah!

[He'd almost forgotten about their experiment, though now that Neku's reminded him, he'll reach down and snag the gingers hand to drag him after him.]

Then we get the nuggets! Yo jus' watch, it gonna taste bomb!

[The hotdogs he at least trusts to not be awful but the nuggets? He loves nuggets but the idea of putting them in broth just promises to make a soggy mess.

But Beat is so excited, so he allows him to lead him with no argument, holding the hand back and just taking it in]

[The first stop is the nuggets, and to make sure Neku doesn't get shafted, Beat gets enough for testing and enough for Neku to just munch on.

The next stop is the hotdogs and Beats gives in to temptation to get himself enough to eat as well. He's sure the ramen will taste great but.

Then back to the ramen shop with their haul, Beat holding Neku's hand throughout the entire thing and he sits beside Neku this time instead of in front of him.]

This is gonna rock so hard yo.

[His hand is getting kinda sweaty by the end of it, and when they come in with other food Doi gives them a Look that makes him wanna sink into the seat.

Still, he doesn't let go right away]

Maybe if you mean like a rock in the gut.

[Beats so oblivious to the look, letting go of Neku's hand so he can start setting things out.]

Bro yer so pestimisty. You gotta give it a chance! Try everythin' once!

[He already knows what type of ramen Neku likes, but they're going to need relatively plain stuff, so he'll get them just some basics.]

[Even though it's the basic stuff, something about Beat ordering for him makes him squirm]

Yeah! An' then like... yo if yer world don' like whatchu brought into it, the bathrooms that way.

[At least he settles while waiting for their ramen, sliding down comfortably and sticking his legs out.]

You'll have to really put your heart into making it up though, if it's that bad.

[That makes Beat laugh and he tilts his head to smirk back.]

Bro, tell you what. If this blows it? We'll do anythin' you wanna do, aight?

Somehow bro, that jus' seems sinster.

[He trusts him tho, and he hopes Neku trusts him as he fetches their ramen now that it's done, setting the bowls in front of them.]

[He's already tossing chilli and cheese, and cutting up hotdogs into his ramen with a look of concentration. It... it looks disgusting.]

[He's not gonna answer that, instead watching Beat.... c o o k?

[Listen there might or might not have been a small fire. He eyes his concoction.]

Looks like it's missin' somethin'...

[That woulda been a good idea though. Instead he stirs his bowl around, using his chopsticks to pick up some, making sure to get everything.]

Yo betchu 5 its gonna taste great.

[Is he stalling? Maybe.]

I'll take that bet- remember, you're still paying for the food though.

[So either way Neku doesn't lose much and his smirk makes that obvious]

[Okay he's not going to get moral support. He realizes this now.

Trying to look more confident than he feels, Beat puts his food into his mouth.]
