Dancing Competition

[Returning from the big city on the train, Kanji and Yosuke left a day later. They both wanted to spend some time there and had plenty of free time before school started again.

That's when Kanji, at one of their stops to get some food, noticed a poster. He ripped it off the wall and brought it over to Yosuke, who had a bag of food.]

Yosuke! Lookit this!

[It was a paired dancing competition, and the winner would get a massive cash prize and a television appearance.]

You and me! We could do this!

Huh? Us?

[He looked at the poster- Chie was in full training for the police testing, and Yukiko was working more and more at the inn. Teddie was.... Teddie, and everyone else no longer lived in Inaba with them. They were the only options]

Dude but this is like, REAL dancing. Not the free style stuff we were doing in the LMB show...

Well... we got three months! If we keep practicin', we should totally be able to do it!

[Kanji's completely determined to do this, and he's going to drag Yosuke into it.]

[They were already in the habit of training after school almost every day, after all. It being his senior year his dad had let him off the hook at work- said he 'needed to experience his high school days while you can'. With business booming and the town not hating them now he had plenty of part time help.]

I still gotta study for exams but- sure, let's do it!

[electrostruck]

Okay, then let's meet up tomorrow and practice! It can't be too hard, right?

[He grins.]

Okay, I'm gonna go register us! I'll see you tomorrow, okay?

[He runs off pretty much immediately, going off to where ever it is they register for things idk let me bullshit.]

[Once he's had a bit for it to sink in, Yosuke ends up pretty excited to. He ends up bouncing all through school the next day.

They meet up as planned, Yosuke waving Kanji down]

Alright man, you ready?

[electrostruck]

Yeah! I'm ready!

[He grins and turns the music on.]

Uh... okay, so one of us has to lead the other.

Oh yeah... uh... do we do this by height or...?

[electrostruck]

Well... if we're bein' honest... you're the better dancer... so maybe you should lead?

Okay, yeah, that makes sense. So... hmm.

[He stops to think, gathering his nerves]

Give me your hands.

[electrostruck]

[He nods and puts out his hands.]

Like this?

[garudynamic]

Yeah.

[Wow, Kanji's hands are a lot bigger then his, he realizes. He's not SURPRISED but he never really thought about it]

I watched a few videos last night, so I think we can at least get the basics down.

[electrostruck]

I did a lil' bit too!

[He chuckles.]

[Breath in- and he starts swaying slightly, leading Kanji along with the rhythm in his head]
