Honeymoon [route au]

 Alola.

It was... really something else, both compared to Johto and to Japan. Once upon at time he hand found the people in Johto too friendly, and now even they were demere in comparison to the Alolans. And everything was so bright, the air even tasted different. And that wasn't even getting into the pokemon.

Before, he would have found it all much too overwhelming, and honestly even now he was glad to have their hotel room to retreat to at the end of the day. But now he just wants to soak the place up. Though the REASON he's here is... so much more then the place itself. He glances over from his spot looking over the balcony to check on Nagi, fingers twisting the ring on his hand as the setting sun was casting everything into reds.

"Holding up over there?"

The last few days had been... exhausting, after all. In more ways then one.

Neku does have a point. He's lost count of the number of times they'd order takeout back home when he was living with Crawford, Schuldig, and Farfarello...mostly because either he didn't want to go out, or all of them didn't.

"You make a good point," he replies. "I'm certainly game for that if you are."

He nods, moving to go get his Gear. "Don't expect me to play out the Alolan fantasy for you though, feed you grapes by hand or something like that." He snickers, and when he finds his Gear he moves over to the balcony to make the call.

"I wouldn't allow that. I'm not going to turn into Schuldig," he answers as Neku heads off to the balcony, leaving him to sit on the bed and wait.

At least out there even if Neku has to deal with bird Pokemon bothering him, he doesn't have to deal with their Pokemon as he makes the mistake of letting Isogu out of his ball...and it isn't long before the Raichu gets wind of the fact they're ordering food(tm).

Neku might not have to deal with Isogu in person, but it's not long before he turns and sees Nagi having to deal with the pushy Raichu. He's still on the phone, ordering, but...

... well, the look he's giving his new husband is full of rare unhidden amusement and affection.

Nagi doesn't notice at first, too busy trying to convince Isogu that he is far too large to climb up into his lap, because apparently his intent was to just sit there and wait for food to be deposited into his mouth like a giant dumpster.

"For Arceus's sake, would you-!"

Then he catches Neku's eye, briefly, noticing the look on his face...and it causes him to flush deeply, quickly looking aside while still pushing Isogu off of his lap with little success.

A few minutes later Neku hangs up the Gear, walking over and sitting back on the bed. He caught that blush- he was looking right at Nagi, after all- so he can't resist scooting up to sit right next to Nagi, scratching Isogu behind the ears.

"You're being a brat."

"More than, he's being a nuisance."

Nagi retorts, watching with a scowl as the Raichu leans into Neku's pets, immediately soaking up the attention while ignoring his trainer completely. He really hasn't changed even from the day they first met...

"Sometimes I wonder if you just were sent to me instead of Neku by accident."

"If I was the type to buy into that kinda stuff I'd wonder if it was fate." After all, if not for Isogu's bratty behavior that day, they wouldn't have been so antagonistic towards each other. And... well everything that happened after would have changed.

Neku leans over to tuck his nose behind Nagi's ear, smiling. "I think it worked out though."

Despite his annoyance with his starter, that gets his nose to crinkle a little as he fights back a smile, as if he wants to keep frowning and stay irritated. It doesn't work though, and he just ends up exhaling through his nose in a sigh.

"I think so, too. It's weird thinking about how things might have been different."

Nagi...didn't really have friends at all when he first arrived. There were many who aggressively tried to befriend him, sure, but he wasn't exactly a huge talker. Only a few caught on to his interests, but even then he didn't know how to make friends. For all he had cared about, Neku was going to be his sworn enemy and rival forever.

Now look at them. Together, partners in a whole different world. And honestly, Nagi preferred that over anything else that could have happened.

Neku nods at the sentiment- thinking about it was pointless. What ifs and maybes. He lightly kisses the skin behind Nagi's ear, staying there so they don't have to meet eyes. "Love you."

They don't say it much, even now. But it feels fitting.

Well if he wasn't already flushed earlier, he sure as hell is now. He closes his eyes for a moment, reaching up to tweak a little piece of his hair near the nape of his neck.

"What was that you said before? We're getting sappy in our old age?"

More like you are. ...but regardless, he turns his head a little so he can kiss the area of his cheek he can currently reach.

"Love you too."

"I'm a married man now, I'm allowed to be sappy." He smirks, and pulls back after Nagi kisses him, eyes bright.

"Food should be here in about half an hour. I got some for the pokemon too."

[unkinder]

"I know somebody who will be glad to hear that," Nagi says just as Isogu perks up, his cheeks sparking a little.

"Means we've got half an hour to kill. Did you want to just hang out here and wait for it?"

[scratchitti]

"Probably best, so we don't get distracted and miss the delivery." He scritches Isogu again, then tries to shoo him off.

"There's plenty to do here."

[unkinder]

Isogu seems contended knowing that food is on the way, so he moves down from the bed to settle somewhere to wait.

Nagi shifts to sit a bit closer to Neku's side once the Raichu isn't in their space any longer, bumping their shoulders together.

"I'm sure we can think of something to do."

[scratchitti]

"Have something in mind?" There's just a bit of suggestive tone in Neku's voice... but he wants Nagi to say it- which to be fair also gives him an out if he's not in the mood.

"Maybe," Nagi replies quietly, just as suggestive himself if not moreso. His tone might not be as telling, but the look in his eyes is a bit moreso. Which is to say yes, there'd a mood happening.

That makes Neku grin, leaning in to nuzzle behind Nagi's ear.

"You should set an alarm on your Gear, just to be safe." Nothing killed a mood better than someone knocking on the door.

Nagi nods, shifting just enough to reach for his Gear beside him to pull back over into his lap. It's a simple matter of tapping a few buttons to set an alarm for five minutes before their food was meant to arrive. ...he also reaches over and rummages in his bag on the floor, tapping Isogu's pokeball so he'll be recalled back into it. "...okay, there." Sorry Isogu but if things get any more heated than this he doesn't want you available to jump into the fray.

The nuzzling quickly shifts to kissing once Isogu is put away. "Thanks. Don't need him demanding attention right now... I want all of it for a bit."

That gets Nagi to scoff between their kisses, one of his hands reaching back into the scruff at the nape of Neku's neck. "I can't say I'm that surprised, Neku."

[scratchitti]

"I mean, we did get rings for that exact reason." God, that's still strange to say, isn't it? He sighs at the touch on his neck, tilting his head slightly.

"We're gonna be busy when we go home, so I have to make good use of the time."

[unkinder]

It absolutely isn't something Nagi ever thought he'd be spending his timedoing. Never ever. How does someone like him end up getting to spend his life with someone he can say he truly loves? He's still not entirely sure how Neku managed to wrap himself around his life as solidly as he had.

Nagi takes advantage of Neku turning his head to facilitate the press of his hand, threading his fingers gently through.

"We almost have too much time to kill now, don't we?"

[scratchitti]

"Don't say that like you won't find some new goal to chase after." He can't picture Nagi being idle for long, after all. "But if you're bored I can keep you busy?"

He grins, looking at their laced hands and how the rings clink against each other.

"Mm, maybe so...but you're right. I'm a bit too preoccupied at the moment to think about much else." He says softly, tilting his head forward until their noses end up brushing together.

It's almost disgusting how much he's fallen for this boy, really.
